Today, Tuesday, the Parliamentary Women's Committee revealed the most important reasons that led to the high rates of divorce in Iraq, while indicating that poverty and the dire economic situation of some families are the most important of those reasons.
Committee member Rizan Sheikh Delir told the National News Center that "man's polygamy, bad economic situation, poverty cases, as well as early marriage, and inequality between women and men, are among the most important reasons that led to the rise in divorce cases."
Dler added, "Most Iraqi families seek to marry their children despite the family's weak economic situation, but they hope that the situation of the spouses will change after the completion of the marriage procedures, and this is one of the negative matters that affects the family and instills major problems that lead to divorce, after the worsening situation of poverty. for the husband.”
She explained that "there are many expenses that fall on the husband after marriage, in order to provide all the family needs, and failure to provide this also leads to family problems that end in divorce," noting "the need to conduct awareness for both sexes before marriage to remedy the matter well."
