The Minister of Transport, Nasser Al-Shibli, revealed the date of receiving two planes with modern specifications, stressing the imminent contracting with an Italian company to develop designs for the railway connection with Turkey.
Al-Shibli said that the ministry is about to obtain a cabinet decision to contract with an Italian company and draw up designs for the rail link project, which connects via Al-Fish Khabur to the Turkish side.
On the issue of purchasing aircraft, he explained that the ministry has a contract with the Boeing Company to purchase forty aircraft, which was established by the Ministry of Finance in the year 2008, when fourteen aircraft were received and payment was delayed in the previous period due to ISIS and the financial crisis.
