Transport Minister Kazem al-Hamami announced on Tuesday that a deal would be reached to activate a contract signed in 2013 for the purchase of aircraft from the Canadian company "Bombardier", pointing out that this contract will serve the fleet of Iraqi Airways with modern aircraft.
"The new aircraft have high features, as they provide a 20 percent difference in fuel from regular aircraft," Hamami said. "The pilot can complete the requirements of takeoff and landing without any treatment."
He explained that "the safety factor is very high and has the ability to land unmanned," adding that "a formula was reached to activate the contract with this company and to use these aircraft to support the fleet of Iraqi Airways with other modern aircraft in line with our aspirations to open air links with countries Different world ".
Al-Hamami said that "the contract was signed with the company and the company is obliged to pay 400,000 dollars for each aircraft as spare parts." He pointed out that "Iraq is the first country in the region to contract with the Canadian company with the best possible specifications."
