Al-Hakim said, in a tweet on {Twitter} that: "We received with regret the news of the departure of the great economist, the former Governor of the Iraqi Bank, Mr. Sinan Al-Shabibi."
He added, "The deceased has a long history of teaching and working in the economic field, as well as his contribution to the management of the monetary authority for many years.
We ask the Almighty God to bless him with his wide mercy, and our deepest condolences and sympathy to his family, relatives and dependants."
