Independent MP Basem Khashan confirmed today, Sunday, that there are no developments regarding the first session of the House of Representatives.
Khashan said in an interview with "Mawazine News", that "the deputies are still in the council's cafeteria, and the date of their entry and the holding of the session has not been set."
He added, "The names circulated for candidacy for the position of the presidency of the Council are Mahmoud al-Mashhadani and Muhammad al-Halbousi so far, and there is no nomination for the position of the first deputy yet."
Khashan went on to say that "the position of the Shiite blocs is still unknown and unclear."
An informed source had reported that the first session of the House of Representatives had been postponed until three o'clock in the afternoon, Sunday.
Today, Sunday, the first session of the Iraqi Council of Representatives will be held in its fifth session.
After that, the president of the year will manage the session, and he will be the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, and then the deputies will take the constitutional oath before opening the door for nomination for the position of Parliament Speaker and his two deputies. Government Media Cell: 12 violating containers were seized at the southern port of Umm Qasr Port
The Government Media Cell in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced the seizure (12) A container that exceeded the legal period of its stay in the southern port of Umm Qasr without consulting the stakeholders, while the Border Ports Authority referred the file to the judiciary to take appropriate legal measures against the violators.
The authority indicated that this comes in implementation of the decision of the investigative judge of Umm Qasr Court regarding the settlement of the abandoned container file, in order to avoid any possible accidents in the ports due to the accumulation of containers in conditions that violate the conditions of safety and quality standardization.
It is noteworthy that the Border Ports Authority, under the supervision and follow-up of its Chairman, Major General Dr. Omar Al-Waeli, formed a committee at the southern port of Umm Qasr Port, in cooperation and coordination with the Customs Center and all the relevant working authorities, to implement the investigative judge’s decision regarding the file of the stacked containers.
