    On Wednesday, the Kurdistan Regional Government decided to raise customs duties on food products for a period of two months.
    A statement by the regional government stated, "The Kurdistan Regional Government decided during today's meeting to raise customs duties on foodstuffs for a period of two months," noting that "the materials covered by raising customs duties are (rice, flour, edible oil, animal fat, tea, sugar, legumes, and infant formula of all kinds).
    The statement added, "The committees formed in the governorates will continue to monitor the markets, prevent price increases and hold violators accountable," noting that "next Sunday, the salaries of the region's employees for the month of March will be distributed without interruptions."
    The statement indicated that "the meeting discussed the draft law on emergency support for food security and development, which was sent from the federal government to the Council of Ministers of the Territory."
    And he added, "The Council of Ministers of the Territory Government decided to send a delegation to Baghdad next week to discuss with the competent authorities regarding the oil and energy file based on the constitution and to preserve the constitutional authorities of the region in this regard."
