    BAGHDAD -
The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, demanded, today, Friday, the exemption of scarce goods from the customs tariff.
Al-Zamili’s media office published a document seen by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) “that included Al-Zamili’s request to the Prime Minister to issue a decision exempting scarce goods from foodstuffs, vegetables and fruits from customs tariffs and taxes for a period of two months and not to demand an import permit until the goods enter.”
According to the document, Al-Zamili confirmed that "some relevant government departments practice delays in completing transactions and the disrupted routine that is tainted by suspicion of extortion and bribery."
