Mulla Bakhtiar: President Nechirvan Barzani's initiative is important, and whoever reduces concerns over the region does not understand anything about politics
Shafaq News/ The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Mullah Bakhtiar, expressed today, Wednesday, his happiness with the initiative of the region's president and his meeting with the Kurdish parties during a visit he made this week to Sulaymaniyah.
Mulla Bakhtiar said during a press conference attended by Shafak News that "the initiative of the brother of the President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, was good and important steps, and the political parties dealt with it well, and its results were positive and effective."
And the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, announced last Sunday, during his visit to Sulaymaniyah, that a ground had been reached to resolve the political impasse in the region and all of Iraq.
Mulla Bakhtiar added that "the United Nations' move also contributed to stirring up the situation in the region, especially after the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq raised her concerns, indicating that the meeting of the United Nations representative with the Kurdish parties will present accurate facts about controversial issues, as the region is not isolated from the world and should The Kurdish leaders are aware that it is necessary to stop the political rivalries.
Mulla Bakhtiar said, "Whoever says there are no fears for the region at this stage or the next stage, I say that he does not understand anything about politics."
The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) had invited representatives of political parties in the Kurdistan Region to a joint closed meeting on Thursday.
It was stated on the official account of UNAMI on Twitter; The meeting comes "with the approach of the Kurdistan Region elections scheduled for October 1, 2022, this meeting provides a good and timely opportunity to exchange views directly."
On the role of the federal government in the outstanding problems between Baghdad and the region, Mulla Bakhtiar stated that it was the federal government that caused the extension of the outstanding problems, due to its failure to implement the provisions of the Iraqi constitution, such as Article 140, the oil and gas law, the region’s share and employee salaries, and the region’s government had to sacrifice it in the past. Without putting pressure on the central government to implement those articles related to the Kurdish people, the region had to go to the world and tell it the extent of the region's default. The region's failure lies in delaying the presentation of these issues.
Regarding the dispute over the presidential candidate, Mulla Bakhtiar explained that the main problem is not about the position of the president in Baghdad, but rather there are deep problems within the Shiite house about the position of the prime minister, but the Kurdish forces erred when they went to Baghdad with four different delegations.
Bakhtiar's speech comes in conjunction with the meeting of the two political bureaus of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, in Erbil, under the auspices of the region's president.
