Shafaq News/ Today, Tuesday, Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi expressed his support for Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi's call for all political parties to sit at the dialogue table, pointing to the possibility of organizing early "parliamentary and local elections".
"We support the initiative of the Prime Minister to find a solution formula regarding the events taking place in the country," the Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a tweet on Twitter, followed by Shafak News Agency.
Al-Halbousi stressed, "the importance of everyone sitting at the dialogue table and taking practical steps to solve the current crisis, leading to parliamentary and local elections according to specific timelines."
In a statement, the Prime Minister called on "all parties to calm down and reduce escalation, to start an initiative for a solution on national grounds, and not to be drawn into accusations, the language of treason, and the eruption of hostility and hatred between the Brotherhood in the one country."
He also called on "all parties to sit at the table of a national dialogue to reach a political solution to the current crisis, under the roof of Iraqi synergy and the mechanisms of national dialogue."
A source in the Iraqi Council of Ministers revealed, on Tuesday, that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi is moving to hold a round table meeting, to gather the parties in the political process.
The political scene in Iraq has undergone serious developments since supporters of the Sadrist movement led by prominent Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr stormed the parliament building in the fortified Green Zone in central Baghdad, and protested against the nomination of the coordination framework, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, for the position of Prime Minister for the next federal government.
