    With the escalation of security crises during the past days, questions about the size of the financial allocations spent in the Iraqi security sector came to the minds of those interested in economic affairs.
    In a quick review conducted by the “Yes Iraq” platform, the value of what has been spent during the 16 years since 2006 until now, has exceeded 232 trillion Iraqi dinars, which are allocations to the Ministries of Interior and Defense only, except for other agencies associated with the prime minister, such as the Intelligence and National Security Service and the Mobilization Authority Popular and other security items.
    In a quick review of the budgets of the Interior and Defense only, with the exception of other security services, it appears that an average of 15% of budget expenditures annually goes to the Ministries of Interior and Defense.
