The Ministry of Oil promised that "super" gasoline prices are not fixed and are subject to international markets.
The Director General of the Oil Products Distribution Company, Hussein Taleb, said that the “super” gasoline, which has recently entered the filling stations and is marketed at a thousand dinars per liter in a subsidized way for the citizen, costs the state 1300-1350 dinars according to the prices of international derivatives, explaining that “the product is imported in hard currency and not A product from Iraq's refineries.
Taleb stressed, “the importance of diversifying products and presenting them to the consumer to give him more space to choose the right type for him according to his income and financial capabilities.”
He pointed out, "Modern vehicle engines need high-purity gasoline, and therefore we see a demand for that gasoline by owners of modern vehicles, so the Ministry of Oil decided to import it in hard currency to meet the demands of citizens."
And Talib, that "the price of one liter of that gasoline is reviewed according to international data, so the price may rise or fall while maintaining the support ratio of 28%."
Taleb went on, "Reports on consumption indicate that there is a demand for this type of gasoline after it is provided in two stations in the capital, Baghdad, and in one station for each governorate for the purpose of testing. If demand escalates, other outlets are opened for processing."
