Baghdad / Obelisk: A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Shirwan Dobardani, said on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, that the House of Representatives does not have the authority to reduce the exchange rate of the dollar, as this is from the authorities of the Central Bank of Iraq, but because the request for the reduction is in the interest of the people of Iraq We signed the request.
Shirwan Dobardani explained that they demanded, through the book, to restore the dollar exchange rate to its previous era, i.e. 1200 dinars to one dollar, but he saw that it is difficult to meet this requirement because the number of salary recipients in Iraq is currently approaching eight million, and decreasing the dollar exchange rate will create General budget problems.
Representative Doberdani added that "the government, the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank do not welcome the reduction of the dollar exchange rate, because the government needs five billion dollars a month to secure the payment of salaries."
