[size=45]The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced that the number of those covered by social protection assistance has reached (7) million people in Iraq, noting that the number of families received from the Ministry of Planning below the poverty line reached 52,081 families.[/size]
[size=45]This came during a press conference, yesterday, by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Assadi, in which he announced the launch of the fifth group of those covered by social assistance for this year, indicating that the total number of those covered by social protection assistance reached (7) million people, and that it is “a big leap that has... “It has been achieved.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Asadi stressed that “we will not stop at the limits of the numbers, but rather the work is ongoing, and will continue until all poor families are included in social assistance,” noting the launch of the fifth batch of those covered by social assistance, amounting to 65,930 beneficiaries.[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that “the number of families received (below the poverty line) from the Ministry of Planning reached 52,081 families, and the number of families received (above the poverty line) reached 13,849 families.”[/size]
[size=45]The Minister of Labor announced the opening of objections for all incoming families above the poverty line, with a total number of 26,625 for the previous four meals. Incoming families must review the social protection departments according to the timetables that will be announced on the ministry’s website to submit an objection for the purpose of presenting it before the higher committees for social protection headed by a judge in Baghdad and the governorates. .[/size]
[size=45]According to the Minister of Labor, the social investigation has been completed for approximately one million and 950 thousand families after their transactions were audited, and the families will be included according to the timetables in new upcoming meals, while the number of families covered by the social protection subsidy since the formation of the government on November 1, 2022 until now has reached 670 thousand families.[/size]
[size=45]Al-Asadi noted that 8,208 disabled and disabled people were included in the social protection subsidy, bringing the number of people covered by this category to 374,690 families, which is the highest in the history of previous governments, within the framework of supporting the most vulnerable groups in society.[/size]
[size=45]The data of more than 30,000 new families was updated for the purpose of including them in the double food basket, and networking with the Ministry of Commerce was completed for the first time, as the number of food baskets from the beginning of the year until the end of August reached more than 41 million food baskets and work is underway to prepare the food basket until the month. [size=45]Regarding the exceeded amounts, he explained that it has reached 170 billion dinars, with a rate of collecting 20 billion dinars in the second half of the current year, and the collection process is still continuing, as the authority received 14,000 installment requests last August, calling on those who receive more than one salary to review it voluntarily. To stop the subsidy, the Ministry is prepared to pay the amounts they owe in installments, otherwise the recovery law will apply to them.[/size]
