The Head of the New Generation Parliamentary Bloc, Sarwa Abdel Wahed, suggested that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani would dismiss any minister who fails in his duties, indicating that the current government cannot hold all former corrupt officials accountable without international support.
Abdel Wahed said in a televised interview that "the current government cannot hold all the former corrupt officials accountable without the support of political forces, whether Shiite or even the opposition, especially in enacting important laws."
And she added, "Al-Sudani's speech and his steps bode well, and he may return the failed ministers to their homes, as his personality is strong, and we have not heard a sectarian or racist rhetoric issued by him."
She pointed out that "the currency auction and money laundering in Iraq are among the most important files that the government should open and hold those involved accountable, as well as completing the corruption files of the previous government."
