, Secretary-General of the Iranian-Iraqi Joint Chamber of Commerce, Jahanbakhsh Sanjabi Shirazi, expressed on Friday his country's desire to increase the volume of exports to Iraq to reach $10 billion at the end of this year.
Sanjabi Shirazi pointed to the decline in the percentage of Iranian exports to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq as well, due to the customs restrictions and the policies that it set with regard to Iranian exporters.
The semi-official Fars news agency quoted this official as saying that Iraq has placed some restrictions on Iranian exports, which include chemicals, steel, good fertilizers and mines, but some of these restrictions were removed about 3 weeks ago.
The Secretary-General of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce noted that the value of Iranian exports to Iraq was 8 million and 860 million dollars, expressing his hope that the percentage of exports from Iran to Iraq would rise between 9 to 10 billion dollars.
