Shafaq News/ A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Finance revealed, on Tuesday, the details of the general budget for the next year 2023, which it is hoped will be discussed within the Council of Ministers next week and then sent to the Parliament.
The source told Shafaq News agency, "The preparation of the draft general budget law for the year 2023 is nearing completion, and that Finance Minister Taif Sami will present the draft law to the Cabinet next week."
He explained, "The total amount in the budget law is estimated at 140 trillion dinars, with a financial deficit estimated at 35 trillion dinars."
The source pointed out that "the law calculated the price of oil at $65 per barrel, but the total amount, the deficit and the price of oil will change downward through discussing the draft law and approving it in the cabinet session."
