    Today, Sunday, the Federal Integrity Commission revealed that it has seized the process of canceling $22.5 million late fines imposed on a lagging investment company in Diwaniyah.
    A statement of the commission received by the “Digla” stated that “the team of the Investigation and Judicial Enforcement Division in the Diwaniyah Investigation Office, which carried out investigations in the Diwaniyah Governorate Bureau and its Investment Commission, revealed that the province had canceled the delay fines imposed on two investment companies that were granted an investment license in 2018. 2012; To build a housing project on land that belongs to it.”
    He added that “the value of the fines imposed by the fines imposition committee formed in the Investment Authority in Diwaniyah, which was canceled by the governorate, amounts to (22,472,250) million dollars,” noting that “the imposition of fines against the two companies ; It was the result of their delay in implementing the “Rawabi Al Diwaniyah” housing project in 2016.
    He continued, “The governorate has formed two investigative and audit committees. To consider the request submitted by one of the two companies to the governor to restore the license granted to it,” noting that “the investigative committee formed by the governor requested the cancellation of the fines imposed on the company, and reinstatement of work with a new contract appendix.”
    He stressed, “The Board of Directors of the Investment Authority requested that the priorities be referred to the committee formed in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, which issued a number of recommendations, but did not address the issue of canceling fines.” The competent authority to consider integrity issues in the Diwaniya, which decided to conduct the investigation; According to the provisions of Article (341) of the Penal Code.
