A member of the State of Law Coalition, Haider al-Lami, said that the US ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, put pressure on the government, which caused the dollar to rise.

Al-Lami mentioned, in an interview with the program Belmakhtzal broadcast by Alsumaria TV, that "the government of Mustafa Al-Kadhimi bears the first reason for raising the exchange rate," pointing out that "the rise of the dollar caused confusion for the feelings of Iraqis and created a state of insecurity among members of society."

He called for "returning the exchange rate to its previous state, but (number by number) until we reach 137 thousand dinars for 100 dollars."

While Al-Lami indicated that "there are no problems between the parties within the coordination framework," he stressed that "there are parties that want fighting between the Kurdish parties."
