On Sunday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed the share of the Kurdistan region from the general budget law for the year 2023.
Committee member Jamal Cougar said, “The 2021 budget contained the statistics of the Ministry of Planning for the ration card, and it was calculated for the region at that time 13.9, meaning 14 percent is the region’s share of the next budget,” noting that “these statistics are registered and proven by law so that the region is not allowed to claim more than 14%.
Cougar added, in an interview with "Al-Ghad Press" agency, followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the Kurdistan Regional Government will send a delegation in the coming days, and it will ask the central government for 17 percent, but Baghdad will not accept that, and the previous statistics will be adopted for the 2021 budget."
