Today, Thursday, the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, confirmed that the government has strategic plans to address the electricity sector and advance its reality, indicating that the government believes in the importance of the private sector and its contribution to the growth of the Iraqi economy.
A statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office stated, "Al-Sudani chaired a meeting that included the Minister of Electricity and a number of consultants and private sector investors in the electricity sector, to discuss the electricity file, and the most important strategic projects that the government intends to launch in cooperation with the private sector, to develop the electricity system and increase the efficiency of the energy network." Al-Sudani stressed, "The government attaches great importance to the electricity file, and it is determined to develop this sector, which has been suffering despite the huge government spending, and because of this, basic economic sectors such as industry, agriculture, investment, and others have been affected."
