Al-Sudani said, in a televised interview, that: "The Munich Conference on Security and Politics is one of the important conferences in the world and the volume of attendance in it from different countries of the world, and the security aspect took a large part in the concerns, conversations and bilateral meetings at the level of groups, in addition to the opening session."
And he added, "Iraq clarifies through the conference first its reading of the security situation in the region and the affirmation that Iraq's security is a guarantee for the security and stability of the region and as a result the whole world, and we showed through this presence the possibility of our security services and their growing capabilities in combating terrorism and pursuing ISIS gangs everywhere."
And Al-Sudani continued, "We also emphasized that today, ISIS does not have a presence through which it controls an area on the ground or maintains a place, but rather it is defeated and terrified gangs pursued by our security services, and we also demonstrated the importance of cooperation and information exchange between our security services and their counterparts in the region and the world."
However, he added, "We also stressed the importance of having a response in recovering wanted persons and those accused of terrorism cases, and the important aspect is also stopping the financing of terrorist gangs, which was indicated to us through our intelligence information about the existence of this financing from many countries, which contributes to the increase in the activity of these gangs."
Al-Sudani explained, "The foregoing is a message that we made clear during our conduct of 26 meetings within 48 hours, during which we interviewed at our residence senior officials in the security services and politicians at the level of prime ministers and ministers of several countries around the world, as well as officials of international organizations."
He continued, "The officials we met showed understanding, real support, and agreement with the Iraqi vision in the security and political reading of the region, and this is an important factor and one of the goals of our participation in the Munich conference, and the message of Iraq and the government's vision reached these important parties, and this is something and a fundamental factor in the security and political understandings."
And Al-Sudani added, "The government took into account all the circumstances that Iraq has gone through since 2019 and the accompanying processes and practices that expressed popular rejection of many forms of living, service and economic performance. We were part of that stage in different locations and took it by formulating it according to priorities in the government program."
And he continued, "Priorities were not set arbitrarily, but came according to an accurate diagnosis and the aspirations of the Iraqi people, such as combating poverty, creating job opportunities, eliminating unemployment, improving services, implementing projects, whether lagging behind or directing new projects, and combating financial and administrative corruption that threatens all development plans," noting, "These important vocabulary represent Street talk affects, in one way or another, all aspects of life in the country and has become an entitlement.
Al-Sudani indicated that "surviving in front of these challenges and leaving these priorities without interest will definitely be difficult for all living, service and economic matters, and we found that our priorities reached the ears of all international parties, and they understand and work with us in the light of priorities."
He concluded, "We stressed the importance of having a response in recovering wanted persons and those accused of terrorism cases," adding, "When we talk about combating corruption, we put before them the obligation to hand over wanted persons and recover money, and we need the help of international financial institutions to provide us with proposals that enable us to reform the economy."
Al-Sudani noted, "During our meeting with the US Secretary of State, we found clear understanding and support for our economic reforms, and we demonstrated during the meeting our determination to reform the financial and banking system, and we asked for flexibility to support the implementation of reforms."
He said, "There is no return to distorted trade, money laundering and smuggling, and we are determined and determined to adopt the correct standards for financial transfers and clean trade that reflect Iraq's seriousness to engage in the global financial system, and soon the citizen will touch these reforms clearly."
Al-Sudani concluded his interview by saying, "The effects of the climate due to desertification, water scarcity and burning gas represent a serious threat to the situation in Iraq, and we have placed it among our priorities."
