Haider Hanoun urges redoubling efforts to recover the smuggled money

Yesterday, Monday, the head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Haider Hanoun, urged the importance of making every effort to reach smuggled Iraqi funds, calling for tracking those funds and developing tools to access and recover them.
Hanoun stressed, during his meeting with the management and employees of the commission's investigation office in Wasit, that "the commission's cadres intensified its efforts in the file of recovering smuggled Iraqi funds," warning that "those efforts, including the search and investigation of smuggled public funds, should not make us lose sight of the accused who committed a crime." Misappropriation or waste of such funds
and harm them.”
He added, "Prosecuting the perpetrators of these crimes and bringing them to justice will lead to deterrence for anyone who tempts himself to abuse the people's money," noting that recovering the money will contribute to developing the country's economic capabilities and reducing poverty rates by providing job opportunities and employing the unemployed.
He stressed that "his method of action in combating corruption for the current stage is represented in reforming some joints of the oversight system," noting that "combating this scourge requires effective, professional and impartial tools at the same time."
He pointed out that "improving the level of work of the commission's investigation directorates and offices is a major reason for the commission's success in its new policy," noting that "the commission's presidency looks with one eye at the integrity of its tools, whether in the directorates and offices or at the commission's headquarters," urging those cadres "to be faithful to work and diligent in their endeavors." Cleaning state institutions from the scourge of corruption," describing it as a "moral, legitimate and legal duty."
