    Baghdad - Nas
The Ministry of Interior recorded an increase in the number of foreign residents compared to previous years.

The Director of Residence Affairs at the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence in the Ministry, Brigadier General Durgham Al-Tamimi, said in a statement to the official newspaper (February 26, 2023), followed by "NAS": The large increase in the number of foreign residents is due to the security stability in the country, which made it a promising destination for work and investment.

He added that the Gulf Cup championship opened wide horizons for security and stability, pointing out that the Directorate is still working on a system that exempts entrants from the Gulf countries to Iraqi territory from visa fees.

And Al-Tamimi indicated that the Gulf countries are now dealing differently with Iraq, especially with regard to the entry of its citizens to its lands, including the Arab Emirates, which grants entry visas without restriction or condition, stressing the keenness of his directorate to deal reciprocally in granting residencies and others.
