The leader of the State of Law Coalition, former MP Jassim Muhammad Jaafar, revealed, on Tuesday, that the United States of America is exerting pressure to prevent Iraq from moving towards the Chinese agreement, indicating that the share of the investment plan is insufficient to implement strategic projects.
“The Americans are still exerting great pressure on the Iraqi government by various means, including the recent dollar crisis and others, in order to prevent Iraq from heading towards the Chinese agreement in the field of construction and investment,” Jaafar said in a press interview, which was seen by “Takadum.”
He added that "what was announced to allocate an amount of 40 to 50 trillion dinars for the investment budget is very small, and most of it will go to old projects except in the field of oil, gas and hospitals."
Jaafar pointed out that “Iraq is in dire need of multiple projects in all sectors, and that the only Chinese agreement that guarantees Iraq the implementation of these projects is that it is based on oil for reconstruction and does not need financial allocation from the annual budget.”
