    Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, stated on Thursday that Iraq is going through a new phase in terms of politics and economy, stressing that the country, including the region, can play an active role in filling the energy shortage in the world as a result of the war between Russia and Ukraine. .
    During his hosting on the sidelines of the annual Erbil Forum, Nechirvan Barzani touched on his participation in the Munich Conference 59, "We are working on two directions, one local and the other external, and such types of international conferences give the region an opportunity to clarify its point of view to solve problems in Iraq and external problems," he added. By saying, "We held many positive meetings in Munich and explained the Kurdistan Region's position on what is happening on the local and international arena."



    He added that Iraq and the Kurdistan Region are the subject of very great interest at the international level, and the stability and security of Iraq positively affects the stability of the region, noting that "the strength of the Kurdistan Region is not a threat to Iraq and vice versa, and we complement each other."
    The head of the region also indicated that Kurdistan operates and moves within the framework of the Iraqi state and on the basis of the constitution and the political position.
    He said, "We are living in the period of the Ukrainian-Russian war, and it was the main focus of the Munich conference, and this does not mean that we did not touch on other issues," pointing out that Iraq is going through a new phase and countries look at Iraq as living in a state of political and economic renaissance, and in this The framework of the Kurdistan Region can work on stabilizing Iraq and security in the entire region.
    Nechirvan Barzani went on to say that Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region, can play an active role in the field of energy, and there is a golden opportunity for them to play a serious and important role in the energy file.
    He added, "Iraq cannot be part of the conflicting poles in the world, and it cannot favor one pole at the expense of another pole, and it can be a bridge to finding a solution between the poles, which is what is happening now."
