The Commission for Human Rights coordinates with the relevant authorities for the purpose of increasing the absorption of people with special needs, whether deaf or dumb, in private sector projects.
Sarmad Al-Badri, director of the Department of Relations and Media at the National Office of the Commission, Sarmad Al-Badri, told Al-Sabah: A team from the file of economic, social and cultural rights in the Baghdad office of the Commission began conducting a series of field visits to institutions affiliated with the private sector to find out the humanitarian and living conditions of a number of workers with special needs. Deaf and dumb category and the extent of their absorption to work in it, pointing out that the team touched a number of bakeries and ovens that accommodate 25 workers of both sexes, stressing the need to generalize this experience in most private sector institutions with their inclusion in the controls and instructions stipulated in the labor and social security laws in the country .
In the same context, Al-Badri explained that the UNHCR office in Baghdad conducted a visit to the Social Protection Authority, the men's section in Rusafa, to find out the number of people with disabilities who benefit from protection benefits, indicating that the men's section was created during 2009, in addition to establishing an electronic platform to facilitate inclusion procedures. Followed by the start of the task of social research to see the standard of living of the applicants, pointing out that this section covers the entire Rusafa side, however, there are a number of obstacles that the team pointed out related to the infrastructure because the section is part of the disability diagnosis center building and it is not sufficient to accommodate the number of auditors.
