Public Pension opens offices in four ministries

The National Retirement Authority has started completing pension transactions for employees of four ministries, noting the imminent opening of new offices in Baghdad and the running of mobile teams in the governorates.
The head of the authority, Maher Rashid Hussein, said, in an interview with "Al-Sabah": "Two offices have been established in the Ministries of Education and Health, in addition to the opening of two offices in the Ministries of Industry and the Ministry of Higher Education during the past week, bringing the total to four offices."
Hussein added, "He directed the retirement directorates in the governorates to form mobile administrative and accounting teams to carry out referral procedures and issue the retirement identity of the employee covered by the law at his place of work, to provide support in the ministries and governorates for retirees to ease the complexity of the system and procedures that slow down the retirement process."
Specialists in improving the conditions of retirees stated that the package for regulating measures to support the retirees segment has some desirable features, according to the calibration of the global pension index "Mercer CFA" for the year 2022.
The expert, Muhammad Hashem, explained to "Al-Sabah" that "the procedures showed an improvement over the past years as a result of reforms and government support for the conditions of retirees through a package of items that stipulated the completion of the transaction and the granting of the retirement identity on the same day that the employee or worker reaches the retirement age."
Hashim stated that "the index examines the status of Iraq among the most strengthened countries in addressing major weaknesses and omissions that have caused the suffering of retirees during the last ten years."
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative Affairs, Falah Al-Qaisi, said: "The Ministry is continuing to address the sensitive and important issue of this group in order to ensure that they obtain their rights as soon as possible."
While the Ministry of Health announced that its Minister, Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, directed to “accelerate the completion and implementation of the government program in coordination with the National Retirement Authority,” indicating that “the Director General of the Administrative, Financial and Legal Department discussed with the Authority’s work team ways of cooperation in promoting pension transactions for the employees of the Ministry and its affiliated departments.”
