    The Municipality of Baghdad announced, on Saturday, that it will implement a major campaign after Eid Al-Fitr, to revive the heritage areas and end the phenomenon of storing goods in them.
    The Director of Relations and Media in the Municipality, Muhammad al-Rubaie, said, "The Baghdad Municipality is ready to launch the campaign with the Heritage Commission, in implementation of the initiative of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani to revive and preserve the heritage buildings in the capital," noting that "work in this aspect is underway with the Central Bank through an initiative Enable".
    He added, "After the end of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, a major campaign will be launched to revive the heritage areas in Baghdad and to preserve the buildings in them from collapsing or falling," noting that "the authorities concerned with monitoring seismic activity after the earthquake that occurred in neighboring countries and even inside Iraq, warned From the step of the collapse of the old buildings.
    And he continued, "The Rusafa Municipality has sent official letters to the concerned authorities with a number of buildings that are threatened with collapse, as 90% of them belong to the private sector and are outside the disposal of the Municipality," explaining that "most of these buildings are used as warehouses for goods."
    He pointed out that "the Municipality is ready to cooperate with government agencies in removing wholesale stores from heritage areas and restoring those houses to their true originality."
