Shafaq News/ The Ministry of Electricity in the Kurdistan Region announced, on Wednesday, the start of supplying gas from the Kormor field to power stations in the regions and cities of the region.
The ministry said in a statement that the energy situation will gradually return to normal within the next two hours.
The Ministry of Electricity in the Kurdistan Region had announced earlier this afternoon that Dana Gas had suspended gas exports from the Kormor field, causing a shortage of energy supplies in the region.
She indicated, in a statement seen by Shafaq News Agency, that the suspension of gas was today at 9:00 am, due to a technical problem, explaining that this suspension caused a shortage of 2,000 megawatts in electricity generation stations.
The Ministry indicated that it is working in cooperation with the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Electricity Command and Control Center in the Kurdistan Region to solve the problem and restore the energy supply to normal.
