    Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: Under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the American University and the Gulf International Foundation signed an agreement to hold a scientific conference next October to build partnerships between Iraqi public and private universities and international universities.
    The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Haider Abd Dhahad, said: We are in the process of holding a conference, the first of its kind in the history of higher education in Iraq, to ​​internationalize higher education and build partnerships between Iraqi and international universities, and 50 of the best international universities will be hosted with scientific partnerships and cultural exchange. My knowledge is with Iraqi universities that will be ready to receive universities in addition to scholarships from international universities for Iraqi students, and in return scholarships from Iraqi universities for foreign students.
    He added that this event is qualitative in the history of higher education, and we thank the American University for providing logistical support to the conference, and the conference will be an unprecedented event, and we hope that the internationalization of higher education will contribute in Iraq, indicating that the conference will be held in the tenth month, during which memorandums of understanding will be signed between Iraqi and foreign universities, and the ministry will be eager to implement it.
    In turn, the Executive Director of the Gulf Foundation, Abdul Rahman Muhammad, said that the conference is the first of its kind in Iraq, and it is a country of knowledge and knowledge, and the right place for these events during the coming months, and work will be continuous to accomplish the largest exhibition to build partnerships with public and private universities and international universities.
    He added that these partnerships will contribute to raising the classification of Iraqi universities globally and provide an opportunity for students from countries in the region, Africa and Asia to study in Iraq, continuing that most countries in the world depend on education in their economies and this is a great opportunity to convey the correct image of Iraq and that the Ministry of Higher Education has clearly directed To attract discerning international universities.
    In turn, the President of the American University in Baghdad, Michael William Mulnix, said that the conference is very important for Iraq, and there will be 50 international universities and 40 local universities, and they will hold a partnership at the headquarters of the American University.
    Molinix added that the benefit is long-term, because the university will remain on the global map, and we await the presence of the best international universities in the American University of Baghdad.
