Today, Saturday, the House of Representatives postponed voting on the National Day bill, while the first amendment bill to the Ministry of Electricity law was returned to the government at its request.
A statement by the Parliament's media department stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the parliament decided to postpone voting on the draft law for the National Day of the Republic of Iraq," noting that "the parliament also decided to postpone voting on the report of the parliamentary investigative committee formed according to Parliamentary Order 170 in 10/11/2022, regarding the investigation of the measures taken by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the termination of the contracts of Tikrit University and other Iraqi universities.
He added that "the House of Representatives returned the draft law of the first amendment to Law No. (53) of 2017 to the government at its request," noting that "the House of Representatives has completed the report and discussion of the draft legal aid law."
He pointed out that "the council also finished the report and discussion of the draft law for the Institute for the Preparation of Police Commissioners, and the report and discussion of the draft law of the first amendment to the Law of Private Security Companies No. (52) of 2017."
