    Baghdad - Nas
Yesterday, Sunday, the legislative recess of the House of Representatives ended, and with it it is expected that the committees will start their work in resuming an activity that is expected to produce what the Iraqis have been waiting for the most for two years, which is the federal budget bill for the year 2023, and other files that are considered the most urgent on the agenda.

A member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Ahmed Taha Al-Rubaie, said in an interview with the official newspaper, followed by "NAS", (January 9, 2023), today is the date for the resumption of the first semester of the second legislative year, and there will be important matters for discussion on the order of priorities, including the draft budget law that the president pledged. Minister Muhammad Shia’a al-Sudani announced that it would be the end of the semester vacation, and therefore there will be some time to discuss expenditures and make adjustments, transfers, and matters related to the Finance Committee and the rest of the committees.

Al-Rubaie added that "there are also some important draft laws for the first reading in the last legislative term, the most important of which is the draft law on social security and retirement for workers, the law of the National Authority for Nuclear, Radiological, Chemical and Biological Control, and the amendment of the Companies Law, as well as a number of other laws that were read for the first time and others that have been read For the second time,” he expected, “that the priority will be to resolve the pending laws.”

And he continued, "Parliament faces another challenge related to combating financial and administrative corruption, which is in harmony with the government program, which represents a major challenge to the legislative and executive authorities, due to widespread corruption in most parts of the state."
