    Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Planning announced the launch of the economic and social survey after Eid Al-Adha, and while it indicated that it was preparing a strategic study to combat poverty based on two criteria, it revealed at the same time the poorest provinces.
    "The ministry of planning has completed its preparations to start implementing the economic and social survey of families in Iraq in the first half of next July, that is, after the blessed Eid al-Adha, the survey will be launched," the ministry's spokesman said. , Abdul Zahra al-Hindawi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
    He added, “The economic and social survey is one of the most important surveys carried out by the Central Statistical Organization, and its aim is to record recent indicators on the poverty line, unemployment, the level of spending, services, and others. Therefore. , we will be facing new indicators that determine for us who are the poorest governorates.”
    He pointed out, “According to previous surveys and indicators, Al-Muthanna governorate has the highest rate of poverty, as the rate in it reaches more than 50%, followed by the governorates of Diwaniyah, Maysan and Dhi Qar, in which poverty rates reach between 45% and 48%.” Then it is followed by the Nineveh governorate, as the poverty rate in it reaches more than 30%, then the rest of the governorates come.
    Al-Hindawi stressed that “the ministry is now working on preparing a third strategic study to combat poverty in Iraq, based on the indicators that will be provided by the next economic and social survey, and what has been approved by the budget to establish a Fund to support the poorest governorates, to benefit from this fund in implementing more among the projects that support the poor, in the areas of housing, health, education, improving the level of income, food and other details related to the lives of the poor .
