The National Data Center Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers clarified today, Thursday, the service of granting building permits electronically after its launch in the municipality of Rusafa, while confirming that the service will be implemented in all municipalities successively.
The director of the National Data Center Projects, Mustafa Hassanein, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, followed by Al-Iqtisad News, that “applying for building permits is a complex issue, as this service takes a long period of time to complete by reviewing the Real Estate Registration and Tax Department and completing the transaction in Baghdad Municipality".
Hassanein added, “The project for applying for construction permits electronically was launched the day before yesterday initially in the municipality of Rusafa, and successively it will be implemented in the rest of the municipalities, and in the future this service will be available in the governorates,” indicating that “this service was carried out through the efforts of the National Data Center Department and in coordination with the secretariat.” Baghdad".
He explained, "The center took the plans to complete the process and studied them and simplified the procedures in order to reach a satisfactory result befitting the citizen," noting that "the citizen can apply for the transaction and receive it electronically without the need for his presence."
He pointed out that "this service was implemented based on the Prime Minister's directives, as he recommended involving the work of the Real Estate Registration Department and the Tax Department with an electronic service, and thus the citizen dispenses with the need to visit the two departments."
He continued, "The financial needs were provided and staff in the real estate registration and tax departments were trained in order to complete the service electronically."
