For 17 years, the dispute over defining a national anthem for Iraq has continued, while the legal status of the country’s flag is a “temporary flag” until now and no permanent law has been enacted.

In 1920, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, and Egypt were subject to the British Mandate, while Syria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco were subject to the French Mandate.

This mandate gains legal status from the League of Nations that was formed after that (similar to the current United Nations), so that the state that assumes the mandate ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]) is responsible for the mandated state (Iraq).

Iraq was the first of the countries subject to the mandate, which moved and was able to get rid of it, obtain complete independence, and transform from a region to a state.

Iraq became the 57th country in the world and the new member of the League of Nations (the international organization at the time).

The League Council, which is similar to the current UN Security Council and which represented the international legislative authority at the time, issued a decision to recognize Iraq as the 57th state and end the British mandate that was imposed on it under the Charter of the League of Nations.

Baghdad was able to obtain the status of a state in accordance with international law on the third of the tenth month in the year 1932 AD and end the mandate before any other Arab country. Even Egypt was late in ending the British mandate until the year 1937. This achievement was achieved by the ministry that he headed

After the Treaty of Lausanne was concluded on July 24, 1923 between Turkey and the Allies, the issue of the Iraqi-Turkish border remained pending, and this issue became a pressing card in the hands of Turkey.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]On Iraq, it has been inserted[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.](The League of Nations) in that case promised that limiting the duration of the British Treaty of 1922 to 25 years starting from January 13, 1926 is linked to the recognition of the Mosul State as part of Iraq.

The League of Nations gave the Iraqi government a choice between agreeing to specify the treaty and ceding the mandate of Mosul to Turkey. Iraq had no choice but to agree to specify the Iraqi Treaty of 1922 for the proposed period in order to preserve the territorial integrity of Iraq.

The National Assembly had no choice but to accept this extension in its session held on January 21, 1926, with a majority of 58 votes against 18 opposition votes, and ten representatives were absent from the session, as the number of members of the House of Representatives at that time was 88 members, thus preferring the lesser of two evils! For his part, the doors of hope were not closed to the king[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]The first is to shorten the duration of the treaty or reduce its provisions, as the period of 25 years was linked to the phrase (unless Iraq accepts a membership in the League of Nations before that).

A new goal emerged for the king's policy[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]It is based on the necessity of expediting entry into the League of Nations; Because this entry will lead to the cancellation of the mandatory relations between[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]And Iraq officially, especially since the issue of the Mosul Province has ended and the Council of the League of Nations recognized it as part of Iraq, meaning that the first treaty was transformed in the second round into a trump card in the hands of the King.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Whereas its sixth article stipulates: -

(His Majesty the King[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]He pledges that he seeks to bring Iraq into membership in the League of Nations as soon as possible.

    There was a great uproar

and after long discussions, accompanied by a great uproar, a new Iraqi-British treaty was drawn up on December 14, 1927, the first article of which stated (that Iraq is an independent and sovereign state) and the second article of which specified the date of Iraq’s nomination for membership in the League of Nations in 1932 (on Provided that the current level of progress is maintained, that conditions go well during the same period, and that relations between the British and Iraqi governments improve.

The Iraqi people were dissatisfied with that treaty, and the Iraqi ministries continued to argue with the British side that Iraq should enter into membership in the League of Nations without restrictions or conditions, which forced[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]To issue the statement of September 14, 1929, according to which Iraq was nominated for membership in the League of Nations in 1932 without restrictions or conditions.

As a result of resentment against the policy of treaties that contained the spirit of the mandate and its abhorrent texts, it was concluded[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]This (association) with Iraq on June 30, 1930 made it the basis of the Iraqi-British alliance and lasted 25 years, which was supposed to be implemented after Iraq entered the League of Nations. On October 3, 1932, the British mandate over Iraq was canceled by its entry into the League of Nations and Iraq became a state. Independent (so this day is considered a national holiday for Iraq).

How was it chosen as a national holiday
