Shafaq News/ The media office of the Minister of Electricity announced, on Thursday, the completion of the first phase of the electrical interconnection with Jordan, pointing out that the Rutba area, west of Anbar, will be equipped with electricity from this phase next month, provided that the second and third phases will be completed, to which the electrical interconnection with Egypt will be added.
The media office of the Minister of Electricity said in an interview with Shafaq News Agency, “The Ministry of Electricity has completed the first phase of the electrical connection between Iraq and Jordan to equip the Rutba areas west of Anbar with electrical current with a capacity of 50 megawatts,” indicating that “next month, the Rutba area will witness the launch of electrical current.” ‏
He added, "The second phase of the electrical interconnection project will equip the western regions with a rate of 350 megawatts of electricity," noting that "the third phase of the project includes the completion of the electrical interconnection project between Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt."
The office stated that “contracts for purchasing energy through electrical interconnection were determined according to international prices.”
