    [rtl]Baghdad - Iraq Today:

The General Authority of Federal Customs discussed, with the Customs of the Kurdistan Region, ways and mechanisms to unify customs procedures between the two parties, and controls for transporting goods in the “transit” system.

According to a statement issued by the General Authority for Federal Customs, and under the guidance of the Iraqi Minister of Finance, Tayf Sami, the Director General of the General Authority for Federal Customs, Counselor Hassan Hammoud Al-Ukaili, received the Director General of the Kurdistan Region Customs, Samal Abdul Rahman Aziz, and his accompanying delegation at the Authority's headquarters in the capital, Baghdad.

The customs statement stated that Al-Ugaili was received by Abdul Rahman and his accompanying delegation, where the most important topics and common files related to customs work were discussed.

The two parties discussed several topics, especially the technical aspects of implementing controls for transporting goods in the transit system, overcoming the obstacles facing this issue, and simplifying the procedures taken to clear transit consignments.

Ways and mechanisms for unifying customs procedures, exchanging information, and developing the capabilities of employees by involving them in joint training courses were also discussed.

On the other hand, the two sides stressed the continuation of their joint cooperation and periodic communication to diagnose obstacles and work to solve them in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.[/rtl]
