The House of Representatives is about to make an important decision if the region does not fulfill its obligations

{Politics: Al-Furat News} Kazem Al-Touki, a member of the Oil and Gas Committee, revealed that the House of Representatives will take an important decision in the coming days if the Kurdistan region does not fulfill its obligations.

Al-Touki said {to Al-Furat News} that: “The oil-producing governorates’ entry into writing the draft oil and gas law is a legitimate right, as is the case for the region.”
He added, "Considering that it has exhausted its energies and its environment is at risk, its postponement or approval will be in accordance with the political situation in the country."
Al-Touki continued, "We are now on the verge of a budget for the year 2024. There will be pressure on the region regarding fulfilling the agreement and revenues."
He stated, "The Minister of Finance's words confirmed that no revenues from the region would reach the center, so the House of Representatives' decision in the coming days will be different if the region does not fulfill the agreement."
