opened the Iraq International Building, Construction and Infrastructure Exhibition yesterday, Wednesday, with the participation of more than 120 companies representing various countries of the world, on the grounds of the Baghdad International Exhibition, and it brought advanced technology that reduces time and effort for the most important projects that the country needs.
The exhibition witnessed an agreement to organize 10 joint exhibitions with Egyptian companies.
The Governor of Babylon, Wissam al-Jubouri, said: Iraq is entering a reconstruction phase that takes into account aspects of partnership with specialized companies and those interested in construction and reconstruction affairs who are distinguished by their adoption of international construction methods in establishing infrastructure projects, the environment, and climate change.
He stressed that the government pays great attention to the issue of infrastructure projects, due to its importance in the life of the citizen, especially since the country needs a major campaign in infrastructure and its various details, in addition to the productive sectors.
He added, "There are local and international companies with which we can achieve serious cooperation that serves Iraq, especially since the Iraqi governorates are approaching dozens of projects that can be cooperated within."
President of the Iraqi Contractors Union, Ali Al-Sanafi, said: These specialized exhibitions lead us to the presence of strong partners through whom we can achieve integration that contributes to the implementation of quality projects inside Iraq, which is one of the most important parts of the world in the field of job opportunities.
He pointed out that the Union is an active supporter of any qualitative effort that contributes to the implementation of projects that have a positive impact on the national economy and the services provided to the citizen.
He pointed out that this exhibition carries a message that the global effort is present in Iraq and is willing to cooperate with the Iraqi contractor and local companies in Iraq, which represents an opportunity for work that is characterized by renewal due to the large volume of work. As for Mohamed Al-Muhandis from the Federation of Egyptian Industries, he said: The Egyptian participation comes carrying a message from Egyptian companies with different specializations that have come with advanced technologies and announce their readiness to work in Iraq.
He added, “We know that Iraq has a large volume of work ahead of it, which opens up great horizons for cooperation, and from here stems the importance of the Iraqi labor market.”
Ahmed Shawqi, Director General of the Rehabilitation Institute, said: The presence of this number of international companies in this exhibition reflects the extent of the global desire to be present inside Iraq and work in various fields of construction and infrastructure, which represents the country’s need at this time.
He stated that the exhibition represents an important step at this time during which the country is looking forward to implementing many projects within the country.
