The US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, reassured her country's government that the US Embassy in Baghdad is “safe” and continuing to operate, and seeks to strengthen the comprehensive US-Iraqi partnership.
Romanowski said in a blog post: “I welcomed (US Deputy Secretary of State for Administration and Resources) Richard Verma to see our facilities in Iraq, and I was pleased to introduce him to the diplomatic and local staff who work hard every day to strengthen the comprehensive US-Iraqi partnership.”
She added: "Our embassy is safe and continues to operate."[/rtl]
