Shafaq News/ Warnings are mounting that Iraq is turning into a hotbed of regional and international conflicts whose frequency is increasing dramatically in the region, amid calls for the necessity of formulating a project to save the country, which has become a scene for settling scores between countries, according to specialists.

Through the federal government, Iraq is trying to distance itself from the conflicts in the region, especially since it realizes that these conflicts are likely to lead to major developments that may directly affect the situation in Iraq, according to political analyst Yassin Aziz.
Warnings against dragging Iraq into a quagmire of conflicts
Aziz added to Shafaq News Agency, “The presence of parties that do not appreciate the dangerous situation and do not adhere to Iraq’s official approach will inevitably negatively affect the situation that drags Iraq into the quagmire of these conflicts.”
He explains that "the influential political actor in the country is under the influence of regional and international parties that are trying to settle their scores on Iraqi soil, which has become a scene for settling those scores."
He stresses, "The Iraqi Prime Minister must move seriously to stop dragging Iraq into being a party in these conflicts, otherwise the future will not be good."
Iraq is paying the price of international conflicts
The director of Al-Rafd Center for Media and Strategic Studies, Dr. Abbas Al-Jubouri, agrees with this proposal, who confirms that “Iraq has always distanced itself from the policy of the axes, and today it is paying the price for international political conflicts, not the countries surrounding Iraq.”
Al-Jubouri explained to Shafaq News Agency, “The recent American attacks on the Popular Mobilization Forces units and attacks on cities are evidence that Iraq is exposed to an unfavorable situation regarding what is happening in its regional surroundings.”
Regarding the tensions in the region, Al-Jubouri explains, “Iraq is an integral part of what exists in the region, as it is a pivotal and strategic country with many common interests among countries, and even for opposing countries, so Iraq must make its own decision away from pressure and occupations.”
Al-Jubouri continues his speech, saying, “The American presence causes problems for Iraq, especially after the recent strike that greatly embarrassed the Iraqi government, which confirms the need for Iraq to rebuild itself and bring out its true identity, and for it to have an influential role in the Middle East, not a weak point for the ongoing international conflicts.” In the region."
    Behaviors of armed factions
For his part, Professor of Political Science, Dr. Moataz Al-Najm, points out that “the Iraqi position represented by the government was neutralized by the behavior of the armed factions that hijacked the government’s decision and will and broke the truce that had continued since Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani took power.”
Al-Najm explains to Shafaq News Agency, “The variable that occurred and broke the truce was the Al-Aqsa flood operation on October 7, which cast a shadow on the nature of the relationship and created the problem and rift between the United States of America and the factions.”
He stresses, "Iraq needs diplomatic solutions and a will that emerges from the national interest, and that there be a purely governmental will to redefine the nature of the relationship between the United States of America and the Iraqi government, and between Iraq as a state and regional countries."
He added, "Also, the factions must emerge with a true national project that does not follow external agendas. Otherwise, all of these behaviors will serve the interests of external and regional agendas, and the first and last affected person is the Iraqi government in particular and Iraq in general."
Al-Najm explains, “As Iraq is still in the stages of development of the political process, and the United States of America is still the official sponsor of the political process, and Iraq is still shackled by the Strategic Framework Agreement, as the Iraqi government’s request to the Security Council still exists with the participation of America and the international coalition to fight ISIS.” ".
Regarding the economic dimension, the political science professor confirms that “the United States of America still controls the dollar in Iraq, and is the protector of the monetary currency or cash flow to Iraq through the US Federal Reserve.”
He explains, "All of these files require the Iraqi government to work to resolve the problems, start from a comprehensive national space, and consider the national interest."
He points out that "Iraq has suffered enough and will not pay the price for the adventures of other parties, at a time when the region seems to refuse to leave the mark of tensions and war, and the devastation, destruction and destruction of humanity that result from it."
He continues, "Iraq supports the Palestinian cause, but this support must not be at the expense of the national interest, given that there are priorities in dealing with crises. There are secondary, basic, and higher interests."
He stresses, "Preserving Iraq's security and sovereignty is considered a supreme interest for the country, and groups must start from this perspective in order to be able to determine the nature of the interaction and the nature of the relationship between them and all countries or international actors in the region."
The position of the Arab countries
In turn, the researcher in political affairs, Abdul Qader Al-Nayel, says, “The Arab countries are divided between the peoples and the ruling regimes, and that all the Arab peoples have a positive stance towards Iraq and its people, but as for the ruling regimes, some of them left Iraq burning while watching it.”
Al-Nayel explained to Shafaq News Agency, “Iranian hegemony over Iraq is due to the official Arab withdrawal from the country after the occupation, although America was also one of the Arab countries preventing the Arab countries from having a decision in the Iraqi affairs, because it cooperated with Iran since 2003, but that "There is no justification for Iraq to be left in this way."
He warns, "The current conflict is dangerous, and the statements issued by the Arab League condemning the Iranian bombing and others are insufficient, because the situation requires the crystallization of a project to save Iraq from its land becoming a hotbed for regional and international conflicts whose pace is escalating dramatically."
Addressing the Arab countries, he noted, “If Iraq burns while you are watching, the fire will reach you, and no one will be safe from the outbreak of conflict. Therefore, everyone must move and listen to the Iraqis and not just listen to the ruling authorities, because they are part of the problem, and America has been destroying Iraq for twenty years and cannot Trust it,” he said.
    Proxy war
For her part, the researcher in international relations, Dr. Azhar Al-Gharabawi, explains that “targeting countries that are not directly involved embodies and translates the proxy war that has begun to materialize as a new model for the cold war that was taking place in the world between the eastern and western poles, through countries where the war takes place as It happened in Cuba and some African countries and others. It is a proxy war whose repercussions are borne by the countries in which the main state’s arms extend, such as Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon, in which Iran’s arms are remarkably broad.”
Al-Gharabawi pointed out during her talk to Shafaq News Agency, “The American administration became its doctrine after the strikes of September 11, 2001, to strike any hostile parties that it feels threaten its national security, whether its interests or the security of its citizens. Therefore, Congress permits the American President to use force if these two conditions are met.”
It continues, “The attacks carried out by Iran, whether from inside or outside the territory of Iraq, on American interests in both Jordan and Iraq, represented by the American consulate in Erbil and the Ain al-Asad base in Anbar, which represents an important pillar of American interests in Iraq, with the American interests and advisors present there.” And the casualties of American soldiers allowed the American President to use force legitimately by responding to those attacks that the American administration considered harming its interests.”
She added, “As for Iran, it has made strenuous efforts to move the arena of conflict to a land other than its own, which is Iraq, given that Iranian foreign policy is based on the security and stability of its neighbor being part of its national security, and this is the pretext it has adopted to direct the conflict and manage it in lands other than its own.” represented by Iraqi lands.
She continues, “But the American administration did not limit itself to striking Iranian sites in Iraq only, represented by the bases of the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Jurf al-Sakhar region, Baghdad, and the areas known to be an Iranian backbone in Iraq, but rather it struck sites inside Iran itself, to send messages to the rulers of Tehran that we are capable of transferring the conflict.” “Anywhere in the world, whether in Iraq or even deep inside Iran.”
She pointed out that "this proxy war embodies at the local level the weakness of the Iraqi government and its embarrassment in front of the Iraqi street, which is not in the interest of the political process in Iraq, and this is beginning to embody the fact that the country is being targeted, while the Iraqi security services are unable to protect internal and external security."
Al-Gharabawi concluded by saying, “The American forces may use Iraqi territory to strike any party that they feel is hostile to them, and the same is true for the Iranian side, and this will undermine the confidence of the Iraqi citizen in his security services, and it also embodies the conflict of the American role in Iraq, which is to protect the security of Iraq in accordance with the agreement.” The strategic framework concluded between Iraq and America in 2008 in its security aspect.”
Iraq is able to protect itself
In turn, the spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Major General Tahseen Al-Khafaji, confirms that “the Iraqi security forces have very high capabilities and capabilities, through which they can protect Iraq, its goals, its people, its borders, and its wealth as well.”
Al-Khafaji added to Shafaq News Agency, “Iraq was able to defeat the ISIS terrorist organization over a period of 3 and a half years, and after the victory over this organization, the Iraqi armed forces began to pay attention to important issues, the first of which is controlling the borders, and it was controlled with Syria, and there is great work towards the Turkish and Iranian borders.” .
He explains, "The Iraqi security forces have become more equipped and professional, especially after the experience they acquired during the liberation battles. They also possess an advanced air force, and there is a distinguished intelligence effort for all security and intelligence agencies."
