The official spokesman for the Iraqi government, Bassem Al-Awadi, confirmed today, Monday, that the government is seeking to reach high levels of popular support by launching service projects, describing the percentage of the recent government poll on street acceptability as important and very encouraging.
Al-Awadi said in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News: “The results of the poll directed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani regarding measuring the citizen’s pulse regarding his satisfaction with the government are important and encouraging.”
He added that it is the first time in the history of Iraq that the government sends messages to citizens’ private phones stating that they are seeking citizens’ opinions regarding government performance.
He continued, “Most of the polls conducted by institutions are targeted polls, and this does not give any inclinations regarding the opinion of the Iraqi street,” pointing out that The results stated a rate of 57% popular confidence in the government’s performance and 18% moderate confidence, stressing that “the government seeks to reach a support rate of up to 90% after providing services.”
