The head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Hassan Turan, revealed the content of the Turkmen initiative, which includes many files on how to manage Kirkuk Governorate in the coming period, while confirming that the Turkmen component is the first political party to present a comprehensive political vision, which is an initiative to solve the problem of forming a local government.
Turan said in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News, “The idea of rotating positions is a guarantee of stability, given that Kirkuk continues to suffer from many problems and crises,” noting that “the initiative includes many files on how to manage the province in the coming period.”
He continued, "The initiative included a joint management mechanism from all political actors in the governorate," adding that "Kirkuk needs to strengthen confidence among its components through actual steps toward partnership."
He added, “The provisions of Article 13 of the Election Law recognized the existence of problems in Kirkuk’s voter register, and the election results do not reflect the true demographics of the governorate due to the failure to audit the voter register,” stressing that: “We won a lawsuit through the Federal Court to oblige the Election Commission to audit the voter register before the elections.” The next parliament.
