Shafaq News/ Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi considered the joint position of his country and Iraq against Israel to be a manifestation of solidarity between the two peoples, expressing his hope for further strengthening of relations between Tehran and Baghdad “in light of the determination and will of the senior officials of the two countries.”
Raisi's statements came during a phone call made by Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani in which he offered his condolences regarding the attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria, according to what was published by semi-official Iranian media on Thursday.
The media reported that Raisi expressed his thanks to the Iraqi government for its condolences to the Iranian government and people, as well as issuing a statement denouncing this terrorist measure, considering the terrorist crime committed by the Zionist entity a blatant violation of the principle of immunity of diplomatic and consular sites and personnel and an attack on the two important principles of diplomacy and international peace, stressing that this entity will pay A heavy price for this criminal act.
President Raisi considered the joint position against Israel to be “a manifestation of solidarity between the Iranian and Iraqi peoples,” praising “the solid and decisive positions of the Iraqi government in supporting the oppressed Palestinian people,” stressing “the necessity for all Islamic countries to take such positions.”
