    On Thursday, the Federal Integrity Commission revealed a waste of public money amounting to five billion dinars in a contract to construct residential homes for the benefit of the General Company for the Implementation of Transport Projects affiliated with the Ministry of Transport.
    The authority said in a statement, seen by Al-Eqtisad News, that “the work team of the Samawah Investigation Office revealed - after investigation and scrutiny - the existence of a waste of public money in the project to establish (34) houses for the concrete beams factory in Samawah, amounting to (4,995,866, 750) four billion dinars,” indicating that “the General Company for the Implementation of Transport Projects referred the project to construct the floor three times to different companies as a result of poor implementation, which indicates inaccuracy in the selection. A contract annex was also organized to complete the remaining work for the amount of (168,067). ,000) one hundred and sixty-eight million dinars.”

    He pointed out, “There is no economic feasibility in establishing the role, as the role has not been exploited yet, which has led to its extinction at a rate of (10%-30%), according to the technical report of the consultant,” noting, “The letter of the General Company for the Implementation of Transport Projects And transportation, which stated that it is not possible for employees to occupy these homes or benefit from them in any other way (investment or rental), due to the lack of staff from the company, pointing to the issuance of the decision of the competent investigating judge, which included approaching the Ministry of Transport to record the statements of the Ministry’s legal representative and conduct an administrative investigation.

    He added, "The team, which moved to the Samawah Municipality Directorate, was able to detect violations in granting a property as a musataha contract for a period of (25) years to investors for the purpose of establishing a fuel filling station for an amount of (1,106,985,000) billion dinars, with a rental allowance." An annual amount of (11,000,000) eleven million dinars,” he explained, “Al-Musattah built the station in violation of the law, as the proper approvals were not obtained from the Oil Products Distribution Company in Al-Muthanna, in addition to the fact that the location of the station’s construction is located in front of the Samawa station.” “This affects the sales of the government station, indicating that the priorities for the two cases have been set, based on the provisions of Article (15/First) of the Federal Integrity Commission Law No. (30 of 2011) as amended.”
