Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Kojer, revealed today, Sunday (July 14, 2024), that his committee has observations regarding the disbursement of the 2024 budget expenditures.
Kocher said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "Until now, the amount of expenditures spent during the first months of 2024 within the current year's budget is unknown, and the expenditures within the budget and according to what is planned do not cause any additional deficit in the budget, in addition to the rise in oil prices higher than what is stated in the budget, so there will be a reduction in the planned deficit in the budget."
He added, "Expenses within the budget are placed within strategic and well-studied plans. There is a Ministry of Finance, a Ministry of Planning, and a special department for preparing the budget."
Kojaz continued, "The request to disclose what was spent during the first months of the current year came after there were comments and doubts about the spending of the budget, and we have comments on the spending of expenses, and this disclosure will be requested at the beginning of the legislative session and the resolution of this file."
