The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, stressed today, Tuesday, that the memory of Ashura represents an opportunity to unite ranks and reject differences.
Barzani said in a post on the X platform, "On the painful anniversary of Ashura, we draw inspiration from the meanings of patience, faith, and the values of sacrifice and courage embodied by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his honorable companions in the Battle of Karbala, where they stood in the face of injustice to uphold the word of truth."
He added, "The memory of Ashura represents an opportunity to unite ranks, reject differences, and adopt the principles of non-violence, tolerance, and brotherhood among all components of our people, in order to build a bright future for our homeland that achieves everyone's aspirations for a decent life, security, stability, and prosperity."
