[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Integrity Commission confirmed its endeavor to set new standards in the field of rule of law and application of the law with a more far-sighted view.
The head of the Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, said during the opening of the joint workshop on the human rights-based approach in anti-corruption efforts, today, Wednesday, in Baghdad, that "the new human rights path is radically different from what countries are following, because the leader of the state in the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq laid down rules and started from the principle of federal authorities and made them four authorities, and the fourth is the independent bodies and focused on the independent bodies in Article 102 and gave them complete independence and no association with any party."
He added, "The Integrity Commission worked to protect human rights in all stages of combating corruption, starting from protecting the informant and his rights and the assistant and his rights, as well as the harm caused to the informant. The Commission also followed up on corruption files in institutions affiliated with human rights and activated human rights in all institutions."
He continued, "We have worked extensively and in joint work with the United Nations Development Program, and with the support of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), to hold workshops and training in many events, forums and initiatives, the latest of which is resolving commercial disputes, which is essentially concerned with human rights. We also have twinning and joint work with the Prime Minister's Advisor for Human Rights and joint workshops to support human rights within the activities of the Integrity Commission in all executive institutions affiliated with the government."
He added, "The Integrity Commission believes that the rule of law is not sufficient to give priority to human rights and outcomes, combat corruption and support the balance of justice, so we will soon put forward a principle based on the just rights that were led by the Commander of the Faithful Ali Ibn Talib in Kufa, which is the principle of the rule of justice, which is considered one of the foundations of that principle," indicating that "the most important thing with which we protect human rights is equality and honesty of application, and this goes beyond the scope of the Integrity Commission, but we will work to strengthen this principle with the relevant institutions as well as with the authorities."
He explained, "There is joint work with the legislative authority, and the most important thing we have gone to is the law on the right to access information," calling on the House of Representatives to vote on the law, because it gives the citizen the right to contribute to combating corruption, human rights, and the principle of transparency. / End 5[/rtl]
