{Politics: Al Furat News} Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani discussed, at Al-Alamein Palace, today, Tuesday, with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, bilateral relations between the two countries, and the importance of developing joint cooperation in various fields, in a way that enhances the mutual interests between Iraq and Egypt.
The meeting also discussed regional and international issues of common interest, most notably the continued Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Al-Sudani pointed out the depth of the relationship between Iraq and Egypt, which has made significant progress in terms of distinguished cooperation, and what it represents as a pivot that benefits the two brotherly countries, as well as the stability of the region, stressing Iraq's keenness to cooperate and open up to Egyptian companies, especially in the fields of housing, agriculture and water management, pointing to the continuation of work in the Iraqi-Egyptian Joint Committee, and His Excellency's direct follow-up of the progress it is making, especially cooperation in the oil transformation industries.
He explained that a stable Iraq is a strength for all brothers and friends in the region, stressing that the Iraqi government is based on Iraq's supreme interests in the matter of developments in the region. He also confirmed that Iraq is capable of being a meeting place between the countries of the region and friendly countries.
The meeting touched on the war on Gaza, and stressed the right of the Palestinians to establish their state with Jerusalem as its capital. In this regard, the Prime Minister stressed that the silence of the international community encouraged the Zionist entity to cross all red lines, praising the efforts made by Egypt in the field of working to cease fire.
For his part, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi expressed his pride in Iraq and his keenness on full cooperation in various fields. He stressed that a strong Iraq is a pillar of the region and Arab countries, pointing to the convergence of visions regarding joint cooperation and the existence of a clear political will in both countries towards integration, praising the government’s measures to establish stability, development and economic openness at the level of the countries of the region and the world.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held that covered joint files, especially the fields of oil, agriculture, and water management, as well as within the framework of tripartite cooperation with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The discussions also touched on the overall situation in the region, as the two presidents stressed that regional developments require continued coordination between the two countries, and with the rest of the brotherly and friendly countries.
At the end of the meeting, President Sisi held a luncheon in honor of Al-Sudani, in the presence of members of the two official delegations.
