    Information/Baghdad...
Today, Tuesday, the representative of Basra Governorate, Rafiq Hashim, rejected the Cabinet’s decision regarding oil companies in the governorate.
Hashem said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, "The representatives of Basra Governorate stand with the oil companies' demonstrators against the Cabinet's decision, which aims to transfer the extractive companies to central financing instead of self-financing."
He added, "The natural resources in Basra Governorate belong to its people, and it is fair to listen to their demands, stressing the need not to infringe on the rights of the people of the governorate."
Angry employees working in the oil sector closed a number of oil sites in Basra Governorate this morning, Tuesday, in protest against decisions issued by the Ministry of Oil. End/25Q
